Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:Lead and provide architectural direction for real-time control systems across various projects. Develop high-quality production code in C/C++ while establishing coding standards and best practices for the team. Collaborate with and mentor a cross-functional team of physicists, electronics engineers, and firmware engineers to design next-generation quantum instruments. Architect system controllers utilizing ARM SoC, overseeing the development of user-space drivers, data acquisition pipelines, and robust control loops with effective error handling. Define and implement control algorithms vital to the performance of precision sensing instruments. Create libraries and frameworks for the control of quantum systems that can be utilized across multiple projects. Facilitate technical discussions with hardware engineers and develop board testing and hardware bring-up strategies. Guide junior and senior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and technical mentorship. Promote continuous improvement in our development processes, tools, and infrastructure. Represent the team in cross-functional technical reviews, architectural discussions, and strategic planning sessions. Desired Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with 8-12 years of relevant experience, or a Ph. D. with 8+ years of experience. As per US export control laws, candidates must be U. S. citizens, lawful U. S. permanent residents, or certain categories of refugees and asylees. Comfortable working in a laboratory setting. Proven capability to lead technical projects and influence engineering decisions across teams. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to varied audiences, both verbal and written. Demonstrated expertise in system architecture and the design of intricate embedded systems.
