Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Manufacturing Engineering or a related field. At least 4 years of hands-on experience in semiconductor manufacturing processes. Required Qualifications:Strong understanding of soldering principles, flux chemistry, thermal profiling, and IPC standards. Proficient in Design of Experiments (DOE), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and root cause analysis techniques (e.g., 8D, Fishbone, 5 Whys). Experience with automation, vision inspection systems, and process control software is advantageous. Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams effectively. Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus. Special Skills:Experience with laser soldering and/or selective wave soldering processes will be an advantage.

About the job

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, enhance, and maintain SMT and mechanical assembly processes, focusing primarily on through-hole components.
  • Oversee process characterization efforts, including planning and executing Design of Experiments (DOE) and conducting thorough root cause analyses to improve yield, quality, and process reliability.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and new product introduction engineering, to facilitate the successful launch of new products and ensure a seamless transition to sustaining operations.
  • Assess, select, and introduce new equipment, tooling, and manufacturing technologies to boost capabilities, enhance efficiency, and optimize costs.
  • Generate, uphold, and continually refine process documentation, such as work instructions, control plans, PFMEAs, and standard operating procedures.
  • Offer technical support and training to production personnel and engineering staff to bolster manufacturing expertise.
  • Track crucial process KPIs and lead structured continuous improvement initiatives utilizing data-driven approaches.
  • Assist in internal and external customer audits, technical reviews, and process capability assessments.
  • Drive process capability (CPK) enhancements to achieve a minimum CPK of > 1.67 and an aspirational target of > 2.0.
  • Meet and maintain first-pass yield (FPY) improvement targets exceeding 99.5%.
  • Establish and uphold comprehensive troubleshooting procedures, ensuring all process-related alarms have clear Out-of-Control Action Plans (OCAPs), and validate each OCAP's effectiveness through thorough verification.
