About the job

Relativity Space is building rockets to serve current and future needs in space access. The Terran R launch vehicle sits at the center of this mission, delivering customer payloads to orbit and supporting the rising demand for launch services. As Terran R gains commercial traction, the program will open new paths for scientific advancement and exploration.

Staff Launch Mechanical Engineers at Relativity Space join a team that emphasizes autonomy, ownership, and direct impact. The work goes beyond routine engineering: team members solve open-ended problems, contribute to the design and construction of rockets and facilities, and help shape the business as it grows. Collaboration spans propulsion, manufacturing, software, avionics, and corporate groups. Individual contributions are quickly visible and help influence both products and company culture.

Launch team at Cape Canaveral

The Launch team manages every major aspect of Terran R operations at Cape Canaveral. Responsibilities include overseeing rocket stages, payload integration, ground systems, launch and landing activities, and refurbishment. Cape Canaveral is the sole site where these elements converge, offering team members broad exposure and significant responsibility within the Terran R program.

Work on this team involves supporting historic first flights and scaling projects to levels uncommon in the aerospace sector. Responsibilities evolve as the program moves from initial launches to frequent operations and new technical challenges. Engineers who want to help shape the future of space launch and develop new methods, rather than follow established patterns, will find this team well suited to their approach.

About Relativity Space

Relativity Space is at the forefront of the aerospace industry, innovating the way rockets are built and launched. Our mission is to make space accessible and to drive advancements in technology and exploration for the challenges of tomorrow.
