Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or a related hard science field.• Demonstrated experience in a hands-on technical project environment (including collegiate project teams and/or professional settings).• Proficient in CAD tools (any platform) with the ability to produce high-quality engineering drawings that comply with industry standards.• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about design challenges.• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Space team at Anduril is focused on expanding our AI-driven capabilities into the cosmos, enhancing Space Domain Awareness, Space Control, and Command and Control for the U. S. military and allied partners. We are developing fully integrated hardware and software systems, including Lattice for Space Missions and modular payloads, to counter emerging threats in space and ensure our Guardians retain a strategic advantage in this competitive warfare domain.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the hardware design process (CAD, hand calculations, prototypes, etc.) from initial concept through to launch while maintaining a holistic perspective on the program's development.
• Employ first principles thinking to inform decision-making and actively seek opportunities to simplify designs.
• Articulate the advantages and disadvantages of system architecture related to design and packaging, emphasizing robust architectural practices.
• Facilitate subsystem design reviews, communicate status updates to team members, and provide clear timelines and technical insights.
• Act as the Responsible Engineer for your subsystem: conduct analysis, engage with vendors, and develop and execute hardware test plans.
• Build prototypes, assess failures, and transition successful designs into flight hardware and low-rate production.
• Travel to test sites and vendor locations as required.
• Create exceptional technical documentation, including presentation materials, test plans and reports, procedures, assembly instructions, part and assembly drawings, vendor specifications, and statements of work.
