About the job
Pivotal Health develops technology that helps healthcare providers secure fair payments in a complex reimbursement system. Many providers struggle with underpayment from insurers, and traditional solutions like Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) are often slow and difficult to manage without the right tools. The company’s AI-driven platform streamlines reimbursement workflows, allowing providers to contest underpaid claims, cut administrative work, and gain more control over payments. The platform is expanding to offer greater transparency and support throughout the reimbursement process.
Role overview
The Staff Software Engineer - Systems Integration will join a small, highly technical team focused on financial transactions and how they move through the Pivotal Health platform to providers. This role centers on greenfield projects: building new integrations from the ground up, making foundational architectural decisions, and establishing patterns that will shape the team’s work for years ahead. The position is well-suited for engineers who enjoy solving complex problems, value ownership, and want to grow professionally alongside a skilled group.
What you will do
- Architect and develop new integrations: Design and build ERP and Salesforce integrations from scratch. Make key architectural decisions, weigh trade-offs, and document the reasoning behind choices. Create systems that are scalable and maintainable as the platform evolves.
- Lead technical direction for financial transactions: Develop business logic for fund distribution, including client payments, IDR process management, and handling post-billing refunds. This work is central to the platform and directly affects provider payments.
- Drive technical standards and documentation: Set technical standards for the team, create supporting documentation, and ensure decisions are well-documented. Establish best practices for development within the group.
