Role overview

This freelance assignment focuses on creating and validating computational statistics challenges. The work mirrors real mathematical research, requiring original problem design and hands-on programming. Projects often involve complex reasoning and may span several days or weeks to complete.

What you will do

  • Design original statistics problems modeled after authentic research workflows.
  • Create challenges that require Python programming, using libraries like Numpy, SciPy, and Sympy.
  • Develop computationally intensive problems, sometimes requiring extended solution timelines.
  • Write problems involving advanced topics such as number theory, combinatorics, graph theory, and numerical analysis.
  • Base assignments on real research questions or practical mathematical scenarios.
  • Validate answers using Python and standard mathematical libraries.
  • Document problem statements clearly and provide verified solutions.

Requirements

  • Degree in Statistics or a closely related field.
  • Proficiency in Python for numerical validation. Experience with tools like MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, Stata, or similar is valued.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in applied, research, or teaching roles.
