The Stringer Operator plays a crucial role in the safe and efficient operation of the Stringer machine, ensuring precision and quality in solar cell production. This position demands a blend of technical skill, production knowledge, and mechanical aptitude to maintain high standards of product quality, optimize equipment uptime, and achieve excellent first-time-through rates (FTT). The operator will be responsible for monitoring machine performance, utilizing Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), conducting hands-on preventive and autonomous maintenance, and assisting with troubleshooting and minor repairs alongside maintenance and engineering teams. This position involves 12-hour rotating shifts from 6 PM to 6 AM.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate and oversee Stringer machinery, ensuring optimal function and throughput.
- Load materials and conduct visual inspections of solar cells to verify product quality against established standards.
- Utilize HMIs and numerical control (NC) equipment for machine operation, diagnostics, and basic troubleshooting.
- Perform hands-on preventive and autonomous maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubrication, and inspection of critical components.
- Identify and resolve basic machine faults to minimize downtime, escalating issues as necessary.
- Accurately document hourly production and performance data, reporting any deviations or abnormalities.
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and quality teams to implement process enhancements and corrective measures.
- Adhere to all safety, quality, and operational protocols, maintaining a tidy and organized work environment.
- Assist in the training and onboarding of new operators on best practices for stringer operation and maintenance.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by the Lead Hand or Supervisor.
