About the job
About Us
At Antares, we are driven by a vision to make clean energy universally accessible, from Earth to the Asteroid Belt. We believe that advanced nuclear energy can enhance military capabilities, address climate change, improve global living standards, and enable humanity's expansion into space. To fulfill this vision, we are developing safely deployable microreactors that can function on land, underwater, and in outer space.
Founded in 2023, our diverse team includes experts from SpaceX, The White House, MIT, Rigetti Computing, The Air Force, General Atomics, Relativity Space, Ursa Major, and prestigious national laboratories such as Los Alamos, Idaho, and Oak Ridge. Antares has successfully raised over $130M in venture capital and secured more than $13M in government funding.
About the Role
As a Structural Analyst at Antares, you will be responsible for creating and executing thermal-structural models for various components and subsystems within the reactor core and power conversion system. Your expertise will ensure that our designs meet stringent thermal, mechanical, operational, and performance standards in the challenging environments of our R1 micro-reactor. Design engineers will depend on your analytical skills for iterative feedback and optimization, while you will uphold best practices for Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and support a fast-paced development cycle.
We emphasize close collaboration between testing and analysis teams. You will be called upon to provide technical assistance throughout test campaigns, including planning testing objectives, instrumentation requests, root cause analysis of failures, post-test data review, and model validation.
