Join our team as a Senior Signing, Pavement Marking, and Signalization Engineer with extensive experience in transportation projects across Florida, specifically adhering to FDOT standards, procedures, and requirements. In this influential role, you will provide technical leadership in the planning, design, and quality control of intricate signing, pavement marking, and traffic signal systems for various roadway projects statewide.The ideal candidate will take on the responsibilities of Engineer of Record, mentor junior engineers, collaborate with FDOT Districts and local agencies, and ensure projects align with Florida's design standards, safety objectives, and construction feasibility.We promote a hybrid work model, allowing flexibility to work from any of our Florida locations, including Tampa, Orlando, Coral Gables, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, or Tallahassee.Key Responsibilities:Act as technical lead and/or Engineer of Record for design initiatives involving signing, pavement marking, and signalization on FDOT, Turnpike, and local agency projects.Prepare, review, and seal Signing & Pavement Marking Plans, Signalization Plans, including detailed specifications and quantities.Ensure comprehensive compliance with:FDOT Design StandardsFDOT Plans Preparation Manual (PPM)FDOT Traffic Engineering Manual (TEM)MUTCD (Florida Edition)FDOT Specifications and Standard PlansLead development activities including:Guide signs, overhead sign structures, cantilever and truss signsPavement marking configurations, striping, RPMs, and specialty markingsTraffic signal systems, encompassing mast arms, span wire, detection, interconnectivity, and ITS componentsCollaborate with roadway, drainage, lighting, ITS, utilities, and structures disciplines to create integrated and constructible designs.Engage directly with FDOT District personnel, Turnpike Enterprise, and local agencies during:Conceptual developmentDesign reviewsPlans formulationComment resolutionAssist in design-build pursuits by formulating technical approaches, scope narratives, and preliminary layouts for signing and signalization.Oversee QA/QC processes, including independent evaluations of plans, quantities, and cost estimates.Mentor and support junior engineers and designers on FDOT standards, best practices, and professional growth.Participate in field reviews, constructability assessments, and post-design support as necessary.
