Qualifications

Qualifications5–6+ years of hands-on experience in structural engineering. Demonstrated capability to lead or manage projects successfully. Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering (Civil Engineering with a strong structural focus will also be considered). PE license preferred or actively pursuing licensure. Proficient in structural design software, including AutoCAD and Revit. Exceptional communication and client-facing skills. Experience in commercial, multifamily, or large-scale residential projects is preferred. Experience in wood design is an advantage. Familiarity with the Texas market is a plus. Must be a U. S. citizen.

alphax is seeking a Structural Engineer and Project Lead for its Dallas office. This role offers the chance to take on project ownership, guide teams, and work directly with clients across a range of building types.

The Dallas team handles projects in multifamily, mixed-use, commercial, and hospitality sectors. Collaboration is central here: engineers work alongside architects, developers, and firm leaders, with every contribution shaping project results.

What you will do

  • Lead structural projects from initial design through construction administration.
  • Oversee and perform structural analysis, calculations, and design development.
  • Prepare and review construction documents to maintain accuracy and quality.
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other disciplines to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients during all project phases.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers (EITs), helping to build team capabilities.
  • Help set project standards and contribute to the growth of the Dallas office.
