Proven ability to lead and mentor junior engineers, providing technical direction in structural analysis techniques and best practices. Exceptional problem-solving skills combined with effective communication of complex technical information.

Job Overview

We are searching for a skilled Structures Engineer to be a vital part of our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will spearhead structural design initiatives for our cutting-edge autonomous surface vessels (ASVs), ensuring their structural integrity and operational reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the structural design of ASV systems and subsystems, guiding projects from initial concept through prototyping and production phases.

  • Oversee and manage design milestones (PDR, CDR) and timelines for all hardware components.

  • Facilitate design review sessions for structural systems and subsystems.

  • Assist in the initial prototyping and assembly of new ASV platforms and their variants.

  • Support the procurement process for prototype hardware and aid in supplier selection.

  • Generate comprehensive engineering design documents, including:

  • 3D models using Siemens NX (preferred) or SolidWorks.

  • 2D drawings adhering to applicable standards (ASME Y14.5).

  • Conduct preliminary structural sizing through hand calculations based on fundamental engineering principles.

  • Collaborate with hardware, product development, and production teams to refine designs based on identified load cases.

  • Create detailed technical reports and documentation to convey design decisions and rationale to internal teams and stakeholders.
