Join RESPEC Inc. as a Student Engineering Intern in our Water Division at the Anchorage, AK office. This temporary, part-time role is designed for students eager to gain hands-on experience in the water resources engineering sector. The intern will engage in a full-time schedule (40 hours per week) during the summer, benefiting from direct mentorship from licensed engineers.

Your contributions will support diverse water resources engineering projects, including stormwater management, water and wastewater systems, and regulatory compliance efforts. Interdisciplinary collaboration with environmental science and transportation teams may also be part of your experience. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, calculations, and design work
  • Employing standard engineering techniques and procedures
  • Drafting reports, figures, and technical documents
  • Utilizing AutoCAD for computer-aided design and drafting
  • Performing GIS analysis
  • Working closely under the supervision of a professional engineer or project manager
  • Networking with recent graduates and company leaders through our internship program
  • Engaging in limited fieldwork as project demands dictate
  • Assisting with additional duties as required
