SAR Academy, a prestigious Modern Orthodox and co-educational day school located in Riverdale, NY, is actively seeking a passionate substitute teacher for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year within our Early Learning Center, catering to Nursery through Kindergarten students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with fellow educators and classroom teams to design and implement engaging, age-appropriate curricula and activities.
- Lead small group sessions to facilitate personalized instruction that promotes individual growth and learning.
- Cultivate a nurturing and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity, creativity, and independence among students.
- Work closely with co-teachers to manage daily classroom routines and support the social-emotional and academic development of each student.
- Assist with classroom needs beyond instructional hours, including supervision during lunch and recess periods.
Qualifications:
- Proven ability to forge meaningful connections with children and foster a respectful, supportive environment.
- Strong collaborative skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving within a team setting.
- Understanding of child development principles across social, emotional, and cognitive domains.
- A creative, adaptable, and open-minded teaching philosophy.
- Previous experience in early childhood education settings and a familiarity with contemporary best practices is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities in a collaborative educational environment.
