At Altom Transport, we pride ourselves on being a leading carrier of petrochemicals and hazardous materials, dedicated to safety, innovation, and excellence in operations. We are currently seeking a Software Development Intern to contribute to our operations, billing, and application development projects. This internship offers a fantastic opportunity for students or recent graduates eager to acquire hands-on experience in software development within the dynamic transportation and logistics sector.
This position is based at our Hammond terminal.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist in developing and enhancing internal applications that aid business operations.
- Collaborate with the billing and operations teams to design tools that improve efficiency.
- Contribute to the enhancement of mobile and web applications utilized by customers and staff.
- Work closely with the IT department to troubleshoot, test, and implement new software solutions.
- Engage in API integrations, database management, and system automation tasks.
- Participate in meetings with stakeholders to identify and understand business requirements.
What We’re Looking For:
- Current student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with JavaScript, Python, or other programming languages.
- Understanding of database management (SQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is advantageous.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with a passion for technology.
