Responsibilities:Serve as the technical liaison for assigned components or systems across flight, non-flight, and launch site recovery infrastructure, addressing emergent supplier challenges and mitigating risks to the schedule by resolving significant manufacturing and quality issues. Lead and coordinate actions to contain risks to build and launch timelines while promoting continuous reliability improvements. Proactively engage with suppliers to resolve critical path component issues to ensure uninterrupted progress on the build schedule. Analyze issues with assigned components, identify root causes, implement necessary changes at suppliers or within SpaceX, and drive actions to resolution, including sourcing new suppliers as needed. Generate and manage issue tickets as required, collaborating with engineering teams to execute necessary reworks, repairs, or use-as-is dispositions. Develop a comprehensive understanding of assigned components, systems, and processes, becoming the primary contact for supply chain defects associated with these components. Collaborate with procurement to identify and assess exceptional suppliers for quality assurance and their ability to meet stringent production timelines.

Supplier Development Engineer, Supply Chain (Launch Site)

This pivotal role will support our Dragon and Falcon programs, necessitating a blend of proven leadership and technical prowess.

This position demands a high level of technical skill, requiring practical experience in process engineering and new product development through stabilized production of machined components and assemblies utilized in rockets and rocket engines. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of machining and assembly processes for metallic components and a willingness to tackle challenges in new domains to further our mission to Mars.
