Qualifications

Proven experience in Linux system administration (CentOS, RedHat) and/or UNIX (HP-UX, AIX, Solaris). Familiarity with automation and scripting tools such as Python and Bash. Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Openstack) and containerization platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift). Strong command-line skills. Experience with configuration management tools and version control systems, including Bitbucket/Git. Proficiency in Ansible is an advantage. Expertise in Web Application Servers, especially Weblogic, is a plus. Understanding of TCP/IP, LDAP, and IPv4/IPv6 is desirable. Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal; proficiency in French is a plus.

About the job

  • Oversee the management, maintenance, and monitoring of Linux servers and applications, ensuring timely system updates, patching, and configuration management.
  • Conduct regular system and security audits, performing vulnerability assessments while recommending effective mitigation strategies.
  • Proactively detect and resolve performance issues within systems to guarantee high availability and minimal downtime.
  • Deliver technical support and expert guidance to users and IT personnel, including troubleshooting and resolving complex issues.
  • Thoroughly document system configurations, processes, and procedures to maintain accurate records and facilitate knowledge sharing.
  • Engage in on-call rotations, providing after-hours support as required.
