Role Overview: Systems Engineer
This position is based in Sterling, Virginia. The Systems Engineer will manage procurement and financial operations, support vendor relationships, and help drive improvements in engineering and purchasing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead procurement from supplier selection through negotiations, purchase orders, and contract administration.
- Assess urgency and impact of procurement requests, escalating complex or high-risk items as needed.
- Oversee financial operations, including both cash and cryptocurrency transactions, ensuring compliance with reporting and control requirements.
- Document and maintain procedures for procurement and financial tracking, such as SOPs and purchasing guidelines.
- Manage contract renewals and vendor relationships to ensure continuous service.
- Work with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
- Analyze spending trends to find cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement efficiency.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and engineering solutions based on project needs and total cost of ownership.
- Collaborate with IT, operations, and management to align procurement with project goals.
- Champion continuous improvement in procurement processes.
