Qualifications

You will:Establish reliability and motion control requirements for the Waymo Driver software, ensuring accuracy, safety, fault tolerance, and reliability across various compute and vehicle platforms. Approve hardware and/or software subsystems for new releases and expansions by updating requirements, collaborating with test engineers, and evaluating safety risks. Create analytical tools (e.g., dashboards, database queries, scripts) for large-scale analyses of Waymo's extensive datasets. Define performance metrics based on safety, product, and reliability demands, influencing design decisions. Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams to tackle complex technical challenges and foster a culture of clear communication and high standards. Shape cross-functional team priorities and roadmap to enhance the requirements process. You have:5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering focused on designing or testing autonomous vehicles or similar autonomous systems. Direct experience in developing requirements applicable across multiple systems, products, software versions, or hardware iterations. Proven expertise in establishing requirements for control systems, motion planning, and/or vehicle dynamics. Demonstrated skill in coding and developing software solutions.

This position offers a hybrid work schedule, reporting to the Systems Engineering Manager.
