5+ years of relevant experience in systems engineering. Proficient in the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Linux systems. Familiarity with Linux/UNIX command line tools. Experience with configuration management tools. Strong Python and Shell scripting skills. Meticulous attention to detail for managing and debugging production systems. Excellent communication and organizational skills. A passion for technology and continuous learning outside of work. Exceptional collaboration skills, working effectively with various stakeholders. Resourceful and motivated with a strong sense of urgency for improvement. Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Join Hudson River Trading (HRT) as a Systems Engineer within our dynamic Research & Development team. We are at the forefront of technology, building and maintaining expansive distributed compute clusters and multi-petabyte storage solutions. Our facilities boast GPU and CPU compute clusters that surpass those of many national laboratories, and we are developing our own on-premises data centers globally. Our teams are dedicated to optimizing computing, networking, storage, and power usage for unparalleled performance. As a full-time Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in projects that ensure our live trading and research operations run seamlessly around the clock, globally. Your responsibilities will vary from maintaining our high-performance computing (HPC) environment to designing and implementing services that enhance our research capabilities. Duties will include hardware and software installation, configuration, remote administration, monitoring, testing new technologies, developing automation tools, and performance tuning.
