We are on the lookout for a Machine Learning Engineering Team Lead to join our Behavior Planning Team. This is a pivotal role that places you at the forefront of autonomous vehicle technology. Your work will not only involve applying AI and ML methodologies but also pushing the boundaries of how self-driving systems interpret their surroundings, engage with other road users, and execute complex, high-dimensional decision-making.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Defining the architecture of our onboard planning models: Develop and deploy large-scale models utilizing Imitation Learning and Reinforcement Learning to enable the Aurora Driver to traverse complex environments with human-like fluidity and unparalleled safety.
- Building our next-generation simulation engine: Design innovative offboard foundation models to enhance our simulation engine, creating realistic "world models" to rigorously test the Aurora Driver against countless edge cases.
- Revolutionizing evaluation processes: Create powerful offboard critic models that can assess driving behavior at scale, identifying subtle distinctions in comfort, progress, and safety that traditional heuristics overlook.
