Qualifications
Willingness to commit to at least 3 years of work in China (focusing on Shanghai) with a strong willingness to travel frequently within China and Vietnam. Completed technical training (e.g., carpenter, metalworker, etc.), ideally complemented by a degree in engineering or a related field. Excellent technical understanding of furniture construction, materials, and production processes. Proactive hands-on mentality with operational experience in quality testing. Structured and independent work style with strong problem-solving skills. Intercultural competence and a confident demeanor when interacting with international suppliers, along with excellent English skills (minimum C1); knowledge of Chinese is an advantage.
About the job
As the Team Lead for Quality Control, you will take on a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of product quality by conducting thorough quality inspections at our suppliers' facilities, particularly focusing on new developments.
Your responsibilities will include enhancing and expanding our partnerships with manufacturers in China and Vietnam, which will require frequent travel to these locations.
You will undertake the analysis and optimization of product assembly, design, and structure to achieve sustainable improvements in product quality.
Systematic documentation of quality defects will be essential, alongside the development and implementation of practical improvement measures to ensure compliance with quality standards, technical specifications, and defined processes throughout the supply chain.
Working closely with product development, procurement, and suppliers will be crucial in maintaining our defined quality benchmarks.
You will also be responsible for the recruitment, training, and ongoing development of a local Quality Control team in China.
