Essential Requirements:At least 5 years of military or police experience, including a minimum of 6 months in operational roles. Fluent in English, both spoken and written. Available for immediate deployment. Fully compliant to work in the specified location. Preferred Qualifications:12 months of commercial experience in the region. Experience managing operations for oil and gas clients. Experience overseeing local guard forces. Prior experience with Control Risks. Specialist Skills:For non-native English speakers, proof of language proficiency via TOEFL (score of 110+) or IELTS (score of 8+). Valid SIA Frontline Close Protection Licence. Current certification for FPOSi Lv3 (QNUK), FPOS Lv3 or 4 (Pearson), and FREC Lv3 (QA / Qualsafe). Military records. BTEC Level 3 Close Protection Certificate recognized by the Security Industry Authority (SIA or equivalent) and accredited by Ofqual. HECPO qualification is preferable.

We are seeking a dedicated Team Member / Deputy Team Leader to provide armed and unarmed protection security for our clients in high-risk environments. In this role, you will uphold the highest standards of security service and represent our team’s capabilities to clients effectively.

Your responsibilities include adhering to Control Risks' standard operating procedures (SOPs), collaborating with your colleagues to ensure the safety and satisfaction of our clients. The primary location for this role is Basrah, Iraq.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit professionalism, discipline, and a low-profile approach in client interactions.
  • Stay informed regarding local threats and key issues.
  • Conduct vehicle and dismounted contact drills, ensuring readiness for immediate action.
  • Demonstrate competent navigation skills, including proficiency in map reading, compass usage, and GPS operation.
  • Utilize vehicle-mounted and handheld communication systems efficiently.
  • Comply with Rules of Engagement at all times.
  • Maintain proficiency in required skills through regular assessments.
  • Handle administrative duties effectively, including vehicle maintenance and equipment accountability.
  • Assist in risk assessments and operational planning.
  • Issue clear orders to team members and brief clients in accordance with SOPs as required.
  • Conduct venue and route reconnaissance and produce detailed reports.
  • Lead the team and provide direction to clients.
