The Role
Wayve is developing embodied foundation models for autonomous driving that learn from extensive experience, enabling them to perceive, understand, and navigate complex environments without relying on rigid rules or maps. This position offers the chance to lead foundational initiatives at the intersection of large-scale multimodal pretraining, language grounding, and post-training/alignment for embodied agents. You will collaborate with exceptional research and engineering teams to define what it means for models to understand language in context, grounded in real scenes, time, and action, and to develop the training and evaluation strategies necessary to scale this understanding.
As the leader of a team focused on enhancing language grounding and reasoning capabilities within Wayve’s multimodal foundation models, you will oversee pretraining and post-training efforts, representation learning, and thorough evaluation. While the importance of high-quality data and scalable pipelines is recognized, the primary focus will be on model capabilities: grounded understanding, transferable representations, and reliable reasoning behaviors in real-world applications.
