The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Accounting Lead to take ownership of some of the most intricate and judgment-intensive areas of our financial statements. In this pivotal role, you will not only reference guidance but also architect the strategic framework, craft comprehensive memos, and operationalize key accounting standards for our high-growth software business, all within a rapidly evolving market and regulatory environment.
You will act as the primary technical accounting authority at Watershed, serving as the subject matter expert on critical topics such as Revenue Recognition (ASC 606), Capitalized Commissions (ASC 340-40), and Internally Developed Software (ASC 350-40). In addition to your technical expertise, you will actively engage in month-end close processes, audit preparation, execution, and financial statement reporting, collaborating closely with finance teams and other departments throughout the company.
This position is ideally based in one of our hubs in San Francisco or New York City, but we are open to considering remote candidates within the US as well.
