About the job

WHO WE ARE

At Proxima Fusion, our mission is to revolutionize the landscape of sustainable energy. We are leveraging the innovative W7-X stellarator and the latest technological advancements to unlock the potential of commercially viable fusion power plants. Our pioneering work in stellarator optimization, driven by state-of-the-art computation and machine learning, is guiding us into new frontiers of fusion technology, with enhanced performance achievable through high-temperature superconducting magnets.

To seize this monumental opportunity, we are assembling a team of exceptionally dedicated and passionate individuals, united in their commitment to transforming technology on a global scale.

WHY JOIN PROXIMA FUSION

  • Tackle some of the most intricate technological challenges in pursuit of abundant, safe, and clean energy.

  • Collaborate and learn from a select group of accomplished and driven professionals.

  • Make your mark by doing your best work and enjoying the journey.

  • Demonstrate that significant achievements are possible in Europe by harnessing top talent.

YOUR IMPACT

You will be instrumental in defining the integration of all building-services systems (TGA - Technical Building Equipment / Building Services Engineering), electrical power distribution, and cryogenic utilities with the fusion machine. You will lead cross-disciplinary integration reviews, resolve routing and corridor logic, and ensure that Alpha, Proxima Fusion’s inaugural fusion demonstrator, and later Stellaris, our pioneering fusion power plant, feature coherent, maintainable, and buildable utility systems that align with both physics and construction constraints.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead integration reviews for TGA, electrical, and cryogenic systems, ensuring constructability and clarity in interfaces with building and machine systems.

  • Define routing strategies, utility corridors, technical spaces, penetrations, and interface envelopes across Alpha and into early Stellaris assumptions.

  • Translate machine-engineering requirements (vacuum, cryo, high-power electrical, cooling) into building-ready inputs for external partners.

  • Proactively identify conflicts using federated models and ensure issues are resolved efficiently to maintain project timelines.

About Proxima Fusion

Proxima Fusion is at the forefront of sustainable energy innovation. Our cutting-edge work in fusion technology not only aims to redefine how energy is produced but also strives to make clean energy a reality for all. Join us in our quest to pioneer the development of fusion power plants that will change the world.
