Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or a related field, with eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) with EGBC.4 to 6 years of experience in the design and implementation of wired and wireless telecom networks within an EPC/EPCM environment or as a client/owner. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal abilities. Proficient in designing networks at OSI layers 1 to 4 for mission-critical applications. Familiarity with various telecom systems and accessories, including:Optical transport systems (DWDM, MPLS-TP, SONET/SDH),Wireless transport systems (Microwave, Satellite),LAN Switching / VLAN technology,IP/MPLS with QoS and Traffic Engineering architectural design,Firewalling,Telecom Power Systems.

As a Telecommunications Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects for some of CIMA+’s most significant clients. Your role will involve delivering cutting-edge telecom system designs and network architectures tailored to meet critical operational requirements. Our telecommunications team collaborates with industrial and public sector clients across various fields, including energy, transportation, and telecommunications, addressing both wired and wireless networking applications. If you thrive in a dynamic environment, this hybrid role offers the flexibility to work from our offices in Vancouver, Kelowna, Calgary, or Edmonton.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed telecom system designs and engineering documentation for various projects.
  • Develop schematics and design diagrams.
  • Draft project scopes, proposals, estimates, and budgets.
  • Prepare and review engineering documents, specifications, and inspection/testing procedures.
  • Generate bill of materials and assist with procurement processes.
  • Coordinate installation and commissioning activities with clients and contractors.
  • Travel to project sites and liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Respond to site information requests and complete project documentation, including record drawings and calculations.
