RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide engineering support for designing, operating, enhancing, and troubleshooting all fiber optic and copper network infrastructure for various IP-based systems. Coordinate downtime activities among maintenance, construction, and production teams to minimize disruptions. Lead telecommunication projects using design change requests, power monitoring data, and advanced detection methods. Troubleshoot electrical system issues, perform breaker coordination, conduct arc flash studies, and monitor electrical load and capacity. Manage material procurement for large-scale projects. Draft, negotiate, and administer construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines until contract close-out. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, optimize, and maintain systems. Provide telecom engineering support to field technicians for troubleshooting existing equipment. Oversee equipment installation, operation, and maintenance to meet specified parameters. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:BICSI RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) certification; or a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.2+ years of experience in telecommunications engineering.

TELECOMMUNICATIONS ENGINEER

As a Telecommunications Engineer at SpaceX, you will navigate a dynamic environment focused on designing and maintaining essential infrastructure. The IT network infrastructure team is responsible for crafting, deploying, and sustaining the cabling systems that underpin all telecommunications for our production facilities, launch infrastructure, and spacecraft support systems. This encompasses layer 1 fiber and copper data cabling, operational voice systems (both wired and wireless), video communications, ground vehicle/payload RF systems, ground stations, telemetry, optical tracking systems, marine communications, readiness testing, and various systems crucial for real-time communications and operations for Falcon, Dragon, Starship, recovery vessels, and other missions. You will also oversee the design and installation of new cabling infrastructure and processes, ensuring world-class connectivity that supports our mission of life beyond Earth.
