Roles and Responsibilities:Design, construct, and utilize custom test stands and rigs for R1 components and assemblies. Develop detailed test plans and protocols encompassing instrumentation, execution steps, pass/fail criteria, and data analysis workflows. Establish test schedules that align with development timelines and business requirements. Lead test design and readiness reviews, effectively communicating strategies and outcomes with stakeholders. Validate measurement precision and accuracy; design or procure specialized fixtures and sensors as necessary. Create schematics and CAD models for test setups and facilities. Define standard procedures and workflows for prototype, qualification, and production-grade testing.

About the Role

As a Test Engineer within the Antares Mission Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing test infrastructure for our R1 microreactor. This role encompasses creating comprehensive test plans that cover everything from concept development to data analysis for critical components and subsystems, including heat rejection, power distribution, thermal management, and mechanical systems.

You will contribute to the formulation and documentation of testing best practices, requirements, and workflows that support rapid iterations and high-quality data collection. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential to ensure that prototype, development, and qualification hardware aligns with test plans validating key features and performance metrics. This position also requires you to design, validate, and maintain test setups that ensure precision and accuracy.
