Key ResponsibilitiesManage the environmental test lab: procurement, setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of vibration tables, thermal chambers, and thermal vacuum chambers. Design and procure test fixtures, manage effective solutions, train operators, and promote continuous process enhancements. Construct, operate, and troubleshoot intricate fluid systems for testing applications, including the sizing and selection of valves, regulators, load cells, and actuators. Integrate and operate essential test instrumentation, working directly with thermocouples, strain gauges, transducers, load cells, and accelerometers. Support the development, qualification, and acceptance testing of Stoke components. Create hardware systems using CAD software. Draft test procedures and conduct hazard and test data analyses. Safely manage high pressure and cryogenic systems. Qualifications8+ years of experience in a design and testing environment. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or a related field. Strong grasp of engineering fundamentals. Extensive experience in testing and operating complex fluid systems, with a strong background in component selection for test stands (pumps, valves, seals). Demonstrated hands-on experience in selecting, configuring, and troubleshooting test instrumentation (thermocouples, strain gauges, etc.).

Position Overview

We are on the lookout for a Test Infrastructure Engineer to join our energetic team at our Kent facility. In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineers and technicians to conduct tests on rocket components, rapidly design and construct testing facilities, and efficiently operate and maintain them. Your work will involve a variety of systems, including hardware, software, mechanical, fluid, and electrical systems. You should be prepared to focus, act swiftly, self-manage, and learn continuously.
