Responsibilities:Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Conduct tests independently or in collaboration with engineers, adhering to established test protocols and design specifications. Summarize and disseminate test data and initial results to relevant stakeholders. Collaborate with engineers to formulate and document test procedures. Assist in designing test fixtures, setups, and stands for production and development. Independently fabricate instrumentation, including DAQ hardware and wire harnesses. Manage electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, including hazardous high-pressure gas and high-voltage electrical systems. Identify and implement process enhancements. Support anomaly investigations and work towards resolution. Provide testing support for production as necessary. Assist in tracking and servicing critical calibrated instrumentation. Basic Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent certificate.3+ years of relevant experience.

Test Specialist – Starship Electromechanical Components

The Components Test organization consists of a dedicated team of engineers, specialists, and technicians who deliver essential testing expertise for developing flight hardware for Starship launch and spacecraft systems. Our engagement with flight hardware commences from conception, progressing through R&D, design qualification testing, production testing, and concluding with failure investigations of hardware throughout its lifecycle. The Starship Actuation Components Test team is responsible for designing, constructing, operating, and maintaining custom test stands and fixtures for various electromechanical assemblies, including actuators, motors, and power electronics, which are required to function reliably in extreme conditions.

As a Test Specialist, you will primarily focus on the construction, operation, and maintenance of these testing facilities. Your contributions are pivotal to the design process as you provide engineers with insights into operational and maintenance considerations.
