QualificationsEducation & Experience – A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Physical Science (Chemistry, Physics, or related fields) is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of related experience. Citizenship Requirement – Candidates must be U. S. citizens due to the nature of the federal work involved. Security Clearance – Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government-issued security clearance if necessary. Experience in coordinating engineering projects is essential. Demonstrated technical proficiency, leadership qualities, and a strong work ethic are required. Ability to thrive in a collaborative project team environment while effectively communicating with various stakeholders.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Join our dynamic team as a UPF Engineering Process Commissioning Specialist at the Y-12 National Security Complex, where you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Department of Energy's mission! This full-time position is located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the validation and implementation of UPF safety protocols and technical design specifications to ensure operational readiness.

  • Evaluate the technical adequacy of safety documentation and related support materials.

  • Assess the compliance of engineering drawings, specifications, and design documents with safety standards.

  • Execute validation and verification processes for technical design requirements across project documentation.

  • Confirm acceptance testing outcomes to validate adherence to design criteria and safety requirements.

  • Lead operational readiness initiatives by preparing and verifying comprehensive readiness affirmation packages.
