THE PROGRAM

Our Veterinary Technician Student Externship Program is designed to nurture the next generation of veterinary technicians through a hands-on, immersive learning experience in emergency medicine. Working alongside our highly skilled emergency veterinary technicians, you will engage actively rather than just observe.

This externship provides you with the opportunity to dive into the fast-paced world of emergency care. You’ll participate in various aspects of veterinary medicine, from patient triage and diagnostic procedures to inpatient care. This will allow you to assess whether a career in emergency medicine aligns with your aspirations, while building a robust foundation for your future.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Learn from leading emergency veterinary professionals in the field.
  • Receive real-time mentoring from a credentialed emergency veterinary technician.
  • Shadow and assist in triage, outpatient care, diagnostics, anesthesia, and inpatient services.
  • Develop skills according to your school's proficiency checklist with ongoing mentorship.
