THE PROGRAM

Our Veterinary Technician Student Externship Program is designed to help aspiring veterinary technicians gain practical, hands-on experience in emergency medicine. This program pairs you with credentialed emergency veterinary technicians who will guide you as you engage in various aspects of emergency care.

You'll not only observe but actively participate in the fast-paced ER environment. From patient triage to diagnostics and inpatient care, you'll gain invaluable exposure to the world of emergency medicine, helping you determine if this is the career path you wish to pursue. This is your opportunity to build a solid foundation and become part of a larger mission.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Learn from leading emergency veterinary professionals.
  • Partner with an emergency credentialed veterinary technician for hands-on mentoring.
  • Shadow and assist with triage, outpatient visits, diagnostics, anesthesia, inpatient care, and more.
  • Practice skills outlined in your school’s proficiency checklist under mentorship.
