As a vital member of the executive team, you will play a crucial role in defining our engineering strategy, nurturing our culture, and executing our vision. In your role as Vice President of Engineering, you will be tasked with constructing and leading a high-performing engineering organization that aligns with Kody's core values and mission. You will establish the technical vision, direct architectural decisions, and ensure the delivery of scalable, secure, and reliable platforms and products. Your collaborative efforts with Product, Design, and Operations will be essential in bringing our roadmap to fruition while cultivating a robust engineering culture focused on technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the recruitment, development, and retention of a top-tier engineering team.
- Set and implement the engineering vision and technical direction in collaboration with executive and product leadership.
- Define and execute an engineering strategy that facilitates the scalable and secure growth of Kody's platform and services.
- Drive engineering execution to guarantee timely, high-quality delivery across all teams.
- Establish and track KPIs to monitor performance, code quality, system stability, and deployment efficiency.
- Foster a culture of feedback, mentorship, and career development through structured reviews and ongoing coaching.
- Work closely with Product, Design, and Operations to align on priorities and roadmap planning.
- Champion modern development practices including CI/CD, testing, observability, and agile methodologies.
- Oversee architectural planning and ensure sound technical decision-making across backend, frontend, and infrastructure.
- Manage engineering budgets, headcount planning, and resource allocation in alignment with company objectives.
- Advocate for engineering needs and priorities at the leadership level, balancing business goals with technical feasibility.
- Maintain and improve onboarding processes, documentation, and workflows to support rapid team scaling.
- Embed data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance into the engineering culture.
