Qualifications

Minimum QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field with at least 12 years of experience in water resources management, including a minimum of 4 years in a leadership capacity as a Program Manager or Senior Project Manager. Proven track record in business development, including capture planning and proposal development. Preferred QualificationsExpertise in managing multifaceted water resources projects, including oversight of scope, schedule, budget, and risk assessment. Experience working with the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, particularly within the New York District, as well as state and local government clients. Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, managing workloads, schedules, and ensuring delivery performance. A strong commitment to staff development, mentorship, and performance management. In-depth knowledge of the NY/NJ water resources landscape and regulatory environment.

Job Overview

AECOM is in search of a dynamic Vice President to lead our Water Resources Practice in the New York/New Jersey region. This pivotal role will drive growth, enhance client relationships, and ensure successful project delivery through effective leadership of a multidisciplinary water resources team comprising 10-20 skilled professionals. Our team provides comprehensive planning and Architecture & Engineering (A&E) services to the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers and various state and local government clients.

The ideal candidate will serve as a 'seller/doer' Senior Manager, fostering close collaboration with regional leaders and growth strategy teams, including those focused on Department of Defense (DoD) and civilian agency sectors. Responsibilities encompass shaping pursuit strategies, identifying business opportunities, developing competitive proposals, and strengthening vital client connections. This role is essential for advancing our business planning initiatives and promoting sustained growth within the NY/NJ Water Resources practice.

As the Senior Manager, you will lead interdisciplinary teams in executing complex water resources projects and programs, which include coastal storm and flood risk management, stormwater infrastructure, flood mitigation strategies, and reservoir management. Key focus areas will be delivery excellence, maintaining technical quality, risk management, mentoring staff, and fostering collaboration across various disciplines and geographies.
