About the job

As a Visitor Services Associate at the Da Vinci Science Center, you will play a pivotal role in creating a welcoming environment for our guests. Your primary responsibilities will include managing the Visitor Services desk and lobby, where you will assist in selling admissions, memberships, and various related products. A deep understanding of our programs and events is essential to provide visitors with exceptional customer service and an informative experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist all visitors with a high level of customer service while sharing your knowledge of programs and events.

  • Maintain proficiency in the Point of Sale (POS) system and understand your key responsibilities related to its operation.

  • Handle the opening and closing procedures of Visitor Services, including cash drawer management, register setup, and ensuring electronic devices are charged.

  • Act as a cashier, processing visitor admissions accurately and adhering to cash control policies.

  • Process coupons, discounts, and various ticket types according to established standards.

  • Promote and sell memberships, converting walk-in ticket buyers into members.

  • Generate reports on attendance, memberships, and other metrics to support organizational needs.

  • Acquire extensive knowledge of all programs and events at the Science Center to effectively assist visitors with inquiries and guide them to their desired destinations.

  • Create physical membership cards and understand the related procedures thoroughly.

  • Manage incoming phone calls, respond to messages, and direct calls as necessary.

  • Support daily operations by assisting on the exhibit floor and with group visits, ensuring all guests have a positive experience.

  • Monitor the cleanliness and safety of Visitor Services areas, restrooms, and coat rooms.

  • Implement emergency procedures as needed, following all established policies.

  • Embrace and support the Science Center's mission and values, showcasing a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in every aspect of your work.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
