Job Summary:
As a Windows Server Administrator, you will play a critical role in the provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, maintenance, and patching of our system hardware and software across Microsoft Windows and UNIX-based platforms. You will engage in technical research and development to foster continuous innovation within our infrastructure. This position ensures compliance with both internal and external standards and security requirements for system hardware, operating systems, and software systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement solutions to meet various project and operational requirements.
- Install new servers and reconfigure existing ones, ensuring adherence to standards and project needs.
- Develop and maintain robust installation and configuration procedures.
- Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of system standards.
- Research and propose innovative automation strategies for system administration tasks to maximize resource efficiency.
- Conduct daily system monitoring to ensure hardware integrity and availability, reviewing logs and confirming the completion of scheduled jobs.
- Implement regular security monitoring to detect potential intrusions.
- Support and oversee daily backup operations, ensuring data integrity and successful recovery options.
- Manage file archival processes and perform data purges as necessary.
- Provide escalation support and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Coordinate repair and recovery processes for hardware and software failures, communicating with affected parties.
- Regularly apply OS patches and upgrades, enhancing administrative tools and services as required.
- Participate in on-call rotations for 24/7 support, including potential evening, overnight, and holiday work.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by management.
