Role overview
The Freelance Supply Chain Consultant - AI Trainer draws on practical experience in procurement and supply chain management to create realistic disruption scenarios, define outcomes, and develop mitigation strategies. Responsibilities include reviewing AI-generated recommendations for accuracy and business fit, especially within manufacturing and procurement operations.
What you will do
- Design supply chain disruption scenarios reflecting real-world challenges such as supplier delays, quantity changes, logistics issues, and quality concerns in manufacturing and procurement.
- Define expected outcomes and mitigation strategies for each scenario.
- Evaluate AI-generated responses to ensure alignment with business logic and operational requirements.
- Review outputs for accuracy, completeness, and relevance within ERP systems (including Microsoft Dynamics 365, Coupa, Jaggaer, and Ariba/SAP).
- Create and validate structured data following provided guidelines and frameworks.
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in procurement, supply chain management, or purchasing, ideally in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong understanding of procurement workflows: purchase orders, vendor management, inventory control, and production planning.
- Direct experience with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Ability to design and assess supply chain disruption scenarios and related mitigation strategies.
- Familiarity with disruption types including delays, shortages, quality problems, and logistics issues.
- Knowledge of Incoterms and logistics management principles.
- Understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM) structures and production planning.
- Experience tracking supplier performance metrics (such as OTIF, lead times, and quality scores).
- Analytical skills to evaluate AI outputs against business logic.
- Background in data validation and structured data entry or annotation.
- Excellent written English communication skills.
Project commitment
Workload typically ranges from 10 to 20 hours per week during active project periods. Actual hours may vary depending on project needs.
Compensation
Contributors may earn up to $60 per hour, depending on experience and contribution.
