Position Overview
We are in search of a strategic and results-oriented Business Development Manager to enhance our federal contracting portfolio. This pivotal role involves identifying, qualifying, and securing new business prospects within U. S. government agencies. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of the federal procurement lifecycle, have established relationships within government and industry, and demonstrate a proven history of securing contracts successfully.
Key Responsibilities
- Opportunity Identification & Pipeline Development
- Research, identify, and qualify federal contracting opportunities (e.g., SAM.gov, agency forecasts, GWACs, IDIQs).
- Develop and sustain a robust pipeline that aligns with company capabilities and growth objectives.
- Capture Management
- Lead capture initiatives from pre-RFP through to contract award.
- Formulate winning strategies, competitive positioning, and compelling value propositions.
- Conduct stakeholder mapping and customer engagement planning.
- Client & Partner Engagement
- Establish and nurture relationships with decision-makers in federal agencies, contracting officers, and industry partners.
- Engage in industry days, conferences, and networking events.
- Identify and negotiate teaming agreements, joint ventures, and subcontracting opportunities.
- Proposal Support
- Collaborate with proposal teams to create compliant and persuasive proposals.
- Contribute to solution development, pricing strategies, and win themes.
- Take part in color team reviews and proposal evaluations.
- Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Keep track of competitors, market trends, and regulatory changes.
- Provide insights to leadership regarding growth opportunities and risks.
- Support strategic planning and account management initiatives.
- CRM & Reporting
- Ensure accurate records are maintained in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, GovWin).
- Monitor opportunity status, forecasts, and win/loss metrics.
- Compile regular pipeline and performance reports for leadership.
