Role overview As a Chemistry and Python Specialist, contributors tackle a range of project tasks, such as: Designing computational chemistry problems that mirror real research scenarios Creating problem sets that require Python solutions, often using libraries like NumPy, SciPy, and chemistry-specific packages Ensuring problems are complex enough to require computational approaches rather than manual solutions Developing challenges in areas including physical chemistry, quantum chemistry, and molecular modeling Basing problems on current research topics or practical chemistry applications Using Python to verify answers with standard computational chemistry techniques Documenting each problem and providing clear, correct solutions Requirements Degree in Chemistry or a closely related field Proficiency in Python for numerical and computational tasks; experience with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, or SciPy is also considered At least 2 years of professional experience (applied, research, or teaching) Understanding of numerical methods in chemistry Familiarity with computational chemistry concepts and techniques Excellent written English skills (C1 level or higher) Project details This is a project-based, non-permanent position. Tasks typically require an estimated 10–20 hours per week during active project phases, though actual hours may vary depending on project needs. Compensation Contributors may earn up to $76 per hour, depending on expertise and pace. Actual rates depend on the project’s complexity and requirements.
