Role overview
This role centers on analyzing large sets of game telemetry data to uncover trends in player behavior, feature usage, and security. By bridging technical and non-technical teams, the Senior Data Analyst translates needs into practical data solutions and shares findings that drive better decisions across the studio. Hands-on play and a genuine enthusiasm for video games help build deep knowledge of the studio’s titles.
Key responsibilities
- Advocate for player interests and bring enthusiasm for gaming to daily work.
- Investigate complex problems with curiosity and attention to detail, sharing discoveries with colleagues.
- Work through ambiguity, iterating and refining solutions as needed.
- Analyze large datasets to identify player behaviors, feature usage, security issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Translate between technical and non-technical teams to deliver practical data insights.
Requirements
- Strong experience writing efficient SQL for dataset creation and analysis.
- Comfort working with both structured and unstructured data, including merging data from multiple sources.
- Expertise in exploratory data analysis.
- Familiarity with visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, data quality, and cost-effective storage practices.
- Experience with Git or other modern version control systems.
Preferred qualifications
- Collaborative team players who enjoy learning and contributing.
- Experience with Python data libraries such as Pandas, Airflow, Flask, or Plotly.
