Role overview The Senior Engineering Manager, Messaging Channels, leads a team of eight product and platform engineers. This group owns the messaging infrastructure that supports every Postscript product. Their work covers several key areas: Flow Builder, an automation tool for managing customer journeys A high-volume SMS campaign management engine used by major direct-to-consumer brands The core messaging platform and infrastructure shared across all Postscript products Expanding into additional communication channels to reach customers on more platforms The team manages its own on-call rotation and maintains high standards for operational reliability. What you will do Manage and develop engineers working on messaging infrastructure Oversee day-to-day operations, including team leadership, coaching, and project delivery Drive projects to scale and evolve backend systems for high-volume messaging Support efforts to expand into new communication channels Maintain operational excellence through dedicated on-call practices Tech stack Python as the primary backend language AWS architecture Go for supporting services Kafka, Postgres, and MongoDB These systems are built to handle the demands and complexity of e-commerce messaging at scale.
