Position Summary:
The Analytics Engineer acts as a vital connector between data engineering and analytics. This role focuses on constructing and enhancing data pipelines, analytical datasets, and reporting-ready data models. Ideal for an early-career professional eager to advance in the realms of data engineering and analytics, this position emphasizes SQL-driven data transformation, ensuring pipeline reliability, and developing analytics-ready data structures.
This position collaborates closely with the Data Engineer, BI Developer, and BI Manager to incorporate new data sources, structure data for reporting and analytics, and enhance the reliability, performance, and documentation of the analytics platform. Over time, we anticipate this role will evolve to include greater ownership of production datasets, data quality monitoring, and optimization of pipelines and semantic modeling.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain SQL transformations to clean, standardize, and structure data for reporting, analytics, and self-service applications.
• Support the management of database objects such as tables, views, schemas, and transformations for reporting and analytics tools.
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of structured data layers (e.g., raw, cleaned, reporting layers).
• Collaborate with the Data Engineer to onboard new data sources utilizing a modern analytics stack.
• Create and maintain curated datasets and reporting tables for Power BI and other internal tools.
• Execute data validation and reconciliation to guarantee accuracy and reliability.
• Aid in the development of data quality checks, monitoring, and alerts.
• Address data issues and facilitate root cause analysis.
