Qualifications

Responsibilities:Design, build, and test optical, electrical, or vacuum systems. Integrate electronics controllers with sensors. Set up testing equipment and automate data collection processes. Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline, with 0-2 years of relevant experience. In compliance with U. S. export control laws, applicants must be U. S. citizens (born or naturalized), lawful U. S. permanent residents (green card holders), or certain categories of refugees and asylees. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders. Hands-on experience in areas such as:Lasers, optics, electronics, or vacuum systems in an R&D context. Prototyping laser and optical systems. Utilizing electronic test equipment like oscilloscopes, pulse generators, power supplies, and voltmeters. Designing and constructing electromechanical assemblies. System integration, bring-up, and troubleshooting. Basic PCB bring-up. Designing custom/semi-custom enclosures considering shielding, grounding, and thermal constraints. Developing custom cabling and interface boards. Computer-aided design (CAD) experience. Basic machining skills.

Role Overview: Associate Engineer – Research and Development

This role is based in Pleasanton, California. The Associate Engineer will join the R&D team working on quantum devices that enable GPS-free navigation, high-speed satellite communications, and geophysical exploration. The position calls for someone comfortable in a hands-on, evolving research environment.

  • Support the design, development, and testing of ultra-precise quantum devices
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to address technical challenges
  • Adapt to new technologies and quickly learn new skills as project needs evolve
  • Contribute to projects spanning navigation, communications, and exploration applications
