Familiarity with medium and heavy-duty truck markets and their propulsion technologies, particularly hybrid and electric vehicle systems. Proficient understanding of battery system technology and its application interactions. Experience with high-voltage systems and lithium-ion batteries. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent analytical abilities and problem-solving skills. Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.

Role overview

The Battery Service Engineering Supervisor manages the daily operations of the battery system field service team based in Auburn Hills, Michigan. This position leads field service engineers and technicians, coordinates service activities, and works to maintain strong customer relationships. The supervisor also plays a role in long-term planning and resource allocation within the service department.

What you will do

  • Direct and coordinate battery system field service engineers and technicians to minimize customer downtime and improve satisfaction.
  • Assist with developing and implementing service department strategies, including resource planning, training, and capital investment decisions.
  • Monitor and report on service claim times and costs, providing regular updates on key performance indicators and team outcomes.
  • Oversee customer integration and commissioning of battery systems, ensuring product specifications are met and serving as the commissioning authority for new applications.
  • Lead root cause analysis using 8D methodologies, collaborating with cross-functional teams for technical support as needed.
  • Develop and communicate preventive maintenance protocols for customers.
  • Contribute to product documentation and help specify service tools and equipment.
  • Support regional service teams as required.
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls related to financial reporting within the area of responsibility.
  • Enforce policies and procedures to meet regulatory and legal requirements, including quality, environmental, and health & safety programs.
