In our effort to expand rapidly in Malaysia, we are on the lookout for an ambitious Business Development Executive/Manager to lead employer acquisition in this vibrant market.
About The Role:
You will take ownership of the complete new-business sales cycle in Malaysia , from prospecting and outreach to pitching, closing, and onboarding employers onto the FastJobs platform. This position is tailored for a proactive individual: you will be the main catalyst for employer growth in the market, collaborating directly with hiring managers, HR leads, and operations heads across various sectors such as F&B, retail, logistics, hospitality, and facilities management. As one of the earliest business development hires focused on Malaysia, you will enjoy significant ownership, a noticeable impact, and direct access to the Chief Revenue Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective employer accounts across key non-executive hiring sectors in Malaysia.
- Perform outbound outreach (cold calls, emails, LinkedIn, field visits) and convert warm inbound leads.
- Conduct discovery calls and in-person/virtual demos to identify hiring challenges and present FastJobs solutions.
- Negotiate and finalize commercial agreements, including job posting packages and featured listing products.
- Onboard new employers and ensure a seamless transition to the account management or customer success teams.
- Maintain precise pipeline and deal records in the CRM; provide weekly forecasts to the Chief Revenue Officer.
- Represent FastJobs at HR events, trade shows, and employer forums throughout Malaysia.
- Deliver market insights to the product and marketing teams regarding Malaysian employer needs.
Key Competencies (Skills & Knowledge):
- 3–5 years of B2B sales or business development experience, with a proven record of consistently achieving or surpassing targets.
- Experience in selling to HR, operations, or business owners, particularly in industries involving high-volume non-executive hiring (F&B, retail, logistics, hospitality, or similar).
- Demonstrated ability to independently source leads and manage the complete sales cycle.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin is a plus).
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven startup environment with minimal supervision.
- Residing in or willing to relocate to Kuala Lumpur (Hybrid working arrangement).
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience with a job board, recruitment services, HR tech platform, or SaaS product sold to HR/operations buyers.
- Established network within Malaysian employers in blue-collar or non-executive hiring sectors.
- Familiarity with CRM software (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar).
