A successful candidate will possess a robust history of obtaining DOD contracts and a comprehensive grasp of the federal acquisition process, spanning from requirement formulation to contract fulfillment. This role demands a strategic thinker adept at cultivating and sustaining influential relationships with key government and military stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Surpass assigned quarterly revenue and profit objectives along with annual targets.
- Forge relationships and explore opportunities within the designated vertical as well as new markets as directed by leadership.
- Continuously nurture and enhance relationships with clients and suppliers.
- Oversee and present a weekly sales pipeline of opportunities, quotes, and orders.
- Offer insights and develop opportunities at the Headquarters or Programmatic level for this market category.
- Collaborate with customers to formulate requirements for upcoming bids and contract proposals for the company's equipment and services.
- Travel to client sites and participate in symposiums, conferences, trade shows, and exhibitions, conducting vendor ride-alongs to unearth sales prospects.
- Actively gather competitive intelligence and market insights, communicating potential opportunities and threats to the organization.
- Provide accurate pricing quotes and establish appropriate credit terms, warranty conditions, and delivery timelines.
- Familiarize and utilize internal systems for processing quotes and orders.
- Advise customers on product selections tailored to their unique needs and preferences.
- Carry out administrative tasks, including report preparation, sales record maintenance, and expense report filing.
- Support fellow Business Development Managers in completing similar tasks.
- Accurately process incoming quotes received via written, electronic, or telephone channels.
- Develop marketing strategies to engage new contacts within the existing account base.
- Implement a combined inside/outside sales approach for territory/customer strategy, vendor relations, and dealer management.
