To excel in this role, you will need:A Third Level qualification at degree level in social care, such as youth work, social studies, addiction, psychology, etc., and/or be a CORU registered Social Care Worker. A minimum of two years' experience in community development, social care work, or supporting vulnerable populations. A strong understanding of the core values and principles of Housing First in Ireland. Excellent communication, negotiation, and mediation skills. A valid Driver’s License and access to a car. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build meaningful relationships with clients. A grasp of trauma-informed care principles. Creativity and flexibility in developing community integration strategies. Empathy, cultural competence, and a passion for promoting social inclusion. Experience collaborating with various agencies, both voluntary and statutory. Knowledge of local employment, educational, and community resources, along with a proactive approach to creating new connections and partnerships.

At Focus Ireland, we are dedicated to transforming the lives of individuals facing homelessness through our innovative Housing First initiative. This full-time, permanent role offers you a unique opportunity to make a significant impact by helping clients transition into stable, long-term housing.

As a Community Integration Worker, you will:

  • Uphold the core values and principles of Housing First as outlined in A Housing First Manual for Ireland.

  • Support the overarching goals of the Housing First Service while adhering to best practice standards.

  • Engage with clients through active and strengths-based methods to foster positive outcomes.

  • Collaborate with Case Managers, multidisciplinary teams, and external partners to provide comprehensive support.

  • Organize tenant and community engagement events that enhance integration and social inclusion.

  • Create personalized community integration plans that align with clients' aspirations and ensure housing stability.

  • Connect clients with local resources, educational programs, training, employment opportunities, and recreational activities.

  • Maintain meticulous records in internal systems and PASS, ensuring compliance with GDPR.

  • Participate in training, supervision, and team meetings, and maintain a flexible schedule as agreed with the Housing Services Manager.

  • Promote a safe and healthy work environment and undertake additional responsibilities as needed.
