ABOUT THE LUCAS MUSEUM OF NARRATIVE ART
Set to open in September 2026, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is a pioneering institution dedicated to the art of illustrated storytelling. Established by George Lucas and Mellody Hobson, the museum showcases an impressive collection featuring works from renowned artists such as Norman Rockwell, Kadir Nelson, and Frida Kahlo, alongside comic art legends and celebrated photographers. The museum also houses the Lucas Archives, which include models, props, and costumes from Lucas's illustrious filmmaking career.

Designed by the acclaimed Ma Yansong of MAD, in collaboration with landscape architect Mia Lehrer, the museum is located in Exposition Park, Los Angeles, spanning an 11-acre campus. This remarkable facility will offer expansive green spaces and a 300,000-square-foot building that features galleries, theaters, a library, a restaurant, a café, a retail store, and community spaces.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Coordinator of Volunteer Programs will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of the Lucas Museum's inaugural volunteer program. This position calls for a creative and resourceful individual with strong organizational and communication skills to provide logistical and administrative support for a vibrant volunteer initiative centered around Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Belonging (DEIAB). The ideal candidate will assist in cultivating our initial volunteer base and support all aspects of museum operations and community engagement.

This highly collaborative role will involve partnerships with various museum departments to enhance the volunteer experience, support museum staff, and strengthen community ties. Reporting to the Manager of Volunteer Programs, the Coordinator will work closely with colleagues in People & Culture and Revenue & Engagement, focusing on volunteer recruitment, training, scheduling, and communication.
