About the Role
The Data Collection Specialist will take charge of data collection initiatives at Hark , managing programs, vendors, and data pipelines that convert raw signals into meaningful training data for our models.
This role entails executing end-to-end data collection campaigns, integrating human feedback, synthetic data, and product-embedded signals. The quality of our data directly influences our product outcomes, and you will be key in ensuring this feedback loop is maintained.
As a pivotal member of a small, dynamic team, you will collaborate closely with researchers, engineers, and external partners. The data you provide will significantly affect how our models function in real-world applications.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive data collection programs, including defining requirements, drafting instructions, establishing success criteria, and overseeing execution with vendors and annotators.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, serving as the primary liaison between Hark and data partners to ensure high quality and adherence to timelines.
- Evaluate collected data using internal tools, identify quality discrepancies, and provide clear, actionable feedback to vendors and annotators.
- Work closely with model researchers and engineers to ascertain data needs, translate those into operational plans, and fulfill them effectively.
- Monitor program metrics, unveil insights, and drive continuous enhancements in quality, throughput, and processes.
- Recognize gaps in tools and workflows and propose tangible improvements.
Requirements
- Demonstrated operational excellence, with the ability to oversee multiple programs simultaneously, manage details under pressure, and impose structure in fast-paced environments.
- Experience in managing external vendors or contractors, with skills in setting expectations, nurturing relationships, and ensuring accountability for quality.
- A strong affinity for data analysis and quality assurance.
